Reflecting on our County Cup weekend at Nottingham Tennis Centre, I am taking away many positives from the experience.
The girls came together and worked well as a team even though some of them only met for the first time on Saturday morning. They quickly bonded and I felt we had good team spirit. On court I couldn’t have asked any more of them, they were very professional when we were practising together, they presented themselves well and fought hard in each match. I was very impressed with all the girls’ attitudes throughout the whole event, they definitely did Lincolnshire proud.
Unfortunately, we didn’t get the results that we would have liked. However a number of our matches went to a third set match tiebreak decider but we just couldn’t manage to convert them into wins. It was very refreshing to watch some good girl’s doubles over the weekend where they applied some good tactics.
All of our doubles matches went to the third set tiebreak but again unfortunately we couldn’t manage to finish the matches in our favour.
I believe the weekend was enjoyed by all involved and I would again like to thank the girls for their hard work and their parents, who enabled them to play, and showed continual support for all our team.
I look forward to working with the Lincolnshire girls for the next competition.
