We have had a really enjoyable weekend, all Lincs girls yet again competed hard and conducted themselves very well on and off court throughout. A highlight this year is definitely winning the match against Nottinghamshire, a match we have lost convincingly in previous years. We went 2-1 up after singles and then Rose and Lucy went on for a doubles battle losing 4-2, 5-4 (6), there was some brilliant doubles points and I decided to keep the same team on to compete in the Tie Break shoot out, the girls kept their cool and even defended a match point to come through and win 12-10! Saturday was a long and hot day, and because the weather forecast was not great for Sunday we got a couple of the Sunday schedule completed.
I decided to mix it up a little on the Sunday against leics, I put Angela in at 3 to make her debut for the County, she did herself and lincs proud and battled hard losing to a more experienced player. All of our singles could have swung either way, unfortunately on the day we didn’t manage to win any, leaving us only our doubles to play against Warwickshire and Leicestershire. We managed to do something we havent done in previous years with Lucy and Anglela winning a really tight doubles 5-4 (3) 4-5 (6) 10-5against Warwickshire, a fantastic way to end the weekend.
Overall we had a really great weekend, with sun, lots of good tennis and lots of laughs.
