It is with huge sadness that Northamptonshire Tennis must report the sudden passing of 32-year-old Kevin Hoey early last week.
Kevin was a much loved and highly respected coach and player. He was county captain to our mini tennis teams for several years and regularly represented Northants at county cup.
His energy and enthusiasm for the game of tennis inspired all he coached and Kevin will be greatly missed across the whole of the Northamptonshire tennis community.
In particular all at Corby Tennis Centre where Kevin was performance programme manager, Medbourne Tennis Club, Kettering Tennis Club and of course his band of minis from around the county who have sent their heartfelt messages of sadness.
As county men’s captain and good friend Mark Taylor said of the loss of Kevin
“His death is a tragedy that leaves a massive void in Northants tennis.”
Our deepest sympathies are with Kevin’s family, friends and his girlfriend Laurence.
