We have been putting a lot of stories lately about our junior successes but we wanted to remind you of some of our senior players who have had international success in the recent past.

World-class tennis returns to Sunderland next week at the Aegon GB Pro-Series event with a host of British players looking to continue an impressive early season so far.

The Schools Tennis Road Show arrived in the North East this week with teachers and schools representatives getting the latest information on how to inspire their pupils.

Farah Abdel-Azizz who currently trains at the High Performance Centre finds form at British Tour in Loughbrough.

Newcastle welcomed young people to find out more about getting involved in tennis and not forgetting the post lunch Harlem Shake!

The Northumberland Club will host a Tennis Fun Day on Saturday 11th May 2013 alongside the AEGON Pro Series Mens Final Day.

It was funky beats all the way at Teesside University as they hosted a Cardio For Teachers course this week!

Sunderland Tennis Centre hosted a visually impaired fundraiser on Friday 22nd March. The session aimed to increase the awareness of visually impaired tennis in local area as well as fund further tennis opportunities for people in the North East.

Virgin Active is delighted to say that 2012 has been a successful year for girl’s tennis. At a time when girls tennis is struggling to not only get girls involved but more importantly to keep them involved throughout teenage years, Virgin Active has worked hard to promote girls tennis. Part of this is to offer all girl’s sessions run by Virgin Active Coach Stephanie Eadon and Level 2 Tennis Assistant Amy Hobburn.

The Aegon Clay Court Championships is dubbed the ‘Spring Nationals’ as it is the only other junior Grade 1 competition in the summer season for the 14&U and 12&U age groups.
