Taunton Tennis Club held their first Grade 3 Grand Prix Open Junior Event in August at the Blackbrook Leisure Centre. The week long tournament brought together some of the top juniors from around the country with players from 22 counties around the U.K Nearly 300 entries filled the courts over the week, with over 530 matches being completed with players aged from 6 years to 18years.
Event organiser Debbie Butland said 'this has been a great week having all these young talented players at our club. I think having the wider community of players coming together and meeting new friends is an essential part of learning for our young society. This being our first prestige event of this kind I am delighted with its success and I want to make the tournament even bigger and better for next year.
