A record total of 172 players played in 263 matches in the four-day South Wales Closed Tennis Championships in Cardiff.
The older age groups played at the National Tennis Centre in Ocean Way, while the new Mini Red (8-and-under) and Mini Orange (9-and-under) events took place at David Lloyd Cardiff.
Players came from across South Wales, with winners from Cardiff, Swansea, Neath, Llanelli, Barry, Pontyclun, Shirenewton and Cwmbran.
“There was a great atmosphere throughout the four days,” said Paul Pritchard, co-organiser of the event for Tennis Wales. “Many players who were knocked out in the early stages returned to support their fellow club players who were still competing in the tournament.
“Players who are new to competition were able to play alongside those who are highly ranked in Great Britain.”
