Britain’s number two Josh Goodall will lead the charge at this weekend’s AEGON GB Pro-Series event in Cardiff which offers free entry to spectators.
The 26-year-old will spearhead a strong British entry at the Men’s $15,000 event with Jamie Baker, presently nationally ranked one place below Goodall, Daniel Evans and Richard Bloomfield all set to compete at Virgin Active Cardiff.
Goodall and co will be challenged by a strong foreign interest with Spain’s Arnau Brugues-Davi, the tournament’s top ranked player at 201, and Belgian duo Yannick Mertens and Niels Desein.
Tournament Director Richard Joyner said: ‘We are delighted to be returning to Cardiff, with a strong line-up for 2012. There is a good mix of British and overseas players, with local interest in Qualifying through South Wales players Daniel Sidaway and Simon Pritchard. It’s a great opportunity to see, free of charge, up and coming professional players in action, with some of the players who have competed in 2010 and 2011 now in the top 100 playing Grand Slam events’
The event runs from Sunday October 21 with the final taking place on Saturday 27. More information is available at www.lta.org.uk/AEGONGBProSeries
