Wrexham Tennis Centre is looking for enthusiastic and dynamic individuals to support the Board of Directors/Trustees in developing its commercial, marketing and PR/communications strategies.
The Centre, which is the biggest in Wales is a Community Indoor Tennis Centre, supported by the local authority, Sport Wales, the LTA and Tennis Wales. It is run by a charity with a volunteer Board of 6 Trustees, most of whom have been involved with the Centre since before it opened in 1990. We want to strengthen the team by bringing in new blood, new skills and knowledge and fresh ideas and are looking particularly for people who can offer skills, knowledge and experience in the following areas:
Commercial – attracting and negotiating with potential sponsors
Advertising and Marketing - Understanding advertising and marketing techniques which can be used to increase usage and to raise awareness of the Centre and its facilities and programmes.
PR and communications – developing good relations with the press and media making best use of social
We are looking for people who would be able to demonstrate a commitment to the Centre and its ethos, aims and objectives and who are passionate about working with our Directors and the staff team to ensure its long term success.
Trustees would need to attend at least one sub-group meeting per month and a full Director’s meeting 6 or 7 times a year, and contribute to decision-making and strategy and policy development outside formal meetings. They should be able to establish a profile within the Centre by getting to know staff and coaches and attending some of our major events.
There is no remuneration, but you would have the satisfaction of being part of ensuring that we continue to provide and improve our fantastic facility and to create opportunities for everyone in the community to participate in tennis and to love the game.
