An entry of 43 teams is expected at the AGM of the South Warwickshire & District Summer Tennis League. The League's Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday 22nd February, 2011, from 7.30pm, at the Royal British Legion Club, Bidford-on-Avon. With the Premier League and Divisions 1 to 5 the league remains at six divisions.
This Men’s Doubles Summer Tennis League covers the South Warwickshire and district areas of the midlands including parts of Worcestershire and Gloucestershire and also runs a one-day end-of-season pairs tournament and an inter-league Charity Cup Final. The league also enters for an eighth season a Junior League which begins a month earlier in March and has increased the number of teams for 2011 from 16 to a record 24 teams from 16 clubs divided into six new pools.
The League will announce a new sponsor at the AGM, having lost its sponsor of Redditch man Lee Prudden after 13 years. The Summer and Winter Leagues will continue to donate £100 main prize to the charity of choice by the team that wins the Charity Cup Final, which will celebrate it's 10th anniversary and be held on Saturday, 18th June, 2011 at Stratford Tennis Club. Tony King of Alcester has again promised financial backing for the annual Pairs Tournament for the 20th year in a row, while the ball sponsors for the Charity Cup, Junior Cup Final and Annual Pairs tournament are once again "Inspire2Coach".
All Clubs wishing to enter the league in 2011 are required under the rules to send a representative to the meeting. Free refreshments will be supplied following the event.
