Week 8 - South Warwickshire Summer Tennis League

Week 8 of the season for the South Warwickshire Summer Tennis League saw Stratford-on-Avon pull further clear at the top of the Premier Division after they took maximum points off their B team with a 4-0 victory.  This win gave Stratford A 25 points and second placed Alcester had no match and stayed on 15 points.  Claverdon remained third with 14 points but slipped up when they were beaten 3-1 by Shipston-on-Stour.  Shipston then went down 3-1 to Evesham in a rain re-arranged match but that point was sufficient to take them third equal with Claverdon.

Division One leaders ChippingCampden consolidated their lead with a good 3-1 win over second placed Bidford leaving the leaders on 19 and Bidford 16 points.  Third placed Littleton had their match at Whitnash rained off.  Ardevcote remained fourth on 14 points but had no match this week which allowed Studley to draw level with them after they drew 2-2 with sixth placed Inkberrow.

It was as you were in Division Two as all three fixtures produced 2-2 draws.  Aston Cantlow stayed top on 19 after drawing 2-2 with fourth placed Ullenhall who have 14 points.  Second placed Snitterfield on 14 points drew with fifth placed Ullenhall.  Finally, joint second Stratford C drew with last but one side Alcester B who by turning up with only one pair forfeited a point.  Littleton had no match.

Division Three leaders Studley B had their match away to FISSC rained off but remained top with 24 points  However, because of this Campden B moved up to within two points of the top after they were awarded a 4-0 walkover Henley B who failed to field a team and have been docked two points and fined.  Third placed Shipston B reached 15 points after defeating Wildmoor Spa 3-1.  Ilmington had no match.

There was no change in positions in Division Four.  Top side Inkberrow B reached 29 points despite drawing against sister side Inkberrow C.  In second spot Moreton-in-Marsh closed a point nearer to the leaders when they beat Alcester C 3-1.  Third positioned Snitterfield B drew 2-2 with bottom side Campden C.  Lastly fourth placed HDA Redditch drew with fifth placed Pershore B 2-2.

Finally, in Division Five the only result in saw Bidford B beat Moreton B 3-1.
