Downton's summer Open Day

Salisbury LTC hit 100 RCJ’s

As a result of hard work on and off court, team work and some fantastic tennis Salisbury LTC have reached 100 Regularly Competing Juniors and are continuing to climb. The club run a brilliant junior programme offering a high level of coaching which has resulted in a number of players representing the County, the Region and beyond at National Talent ID but now the coaches are concentrating on creating greater depth of juniors competing regularly to ensure sustainable foundations on which to grow in to the future.

Andy Trott, LTA Tennis Development Officer for South West said “Lee and the team have really pulled together in the past few months to ensure that more and more juniors on the programme have the opportunity to compete in a fun and motivating environment at the club. The coaching programmes new administrator Deborah is continuing to add great value to the team ensuring that the highest standards are attained.”

Downton TC continue to attract new members

After some brilliant promotions and innovative open days the club enjoyed an increase in both adult and juniors players. The quality of the open days and the close attention to communication prior and post event ensured that those who showed interest were given the opportunity to get on court at a level that suits them. The Cardio Tennis programme was very well received and resulted in a number of weekly sessions being created to cater to the demand.

Andy Trott, LTA Tennis Development Officer said “This is a great example of coaches and committee working in beautiful harmony to create an opportunity for anyone in the town to get on court and enjoy a day of fun FREE tennis, the number of people that attended and the number of those retained since are testament to the hard work and quality of the offer at Downton TC.”
