Anne Keothavong reached the quarter-finals of the women's singles in Mexico. Keothavong, who was seeded seventh, played Olga Savchuk of the Ukraine for a place in the semi-finals but was defeated 6-4, 7-6(4).

Tara Moore was also in singles action but missed out in the second round.
