Jamie Baker is through to the second round of the men's singles in Canada after a 4-6, 6-2, 7-6(5) win over Canadian qualifier George Jecminek. In the doubles, Baker and New Zealand's Danie King-Turner won through to the quarter-finals where they were defeated in three sets.

Second seed Jamie Baker takes Canadian qualifier George Jecminek in the opening round of the singles this week in Canada where the top seed is world number 186 Peter Polansky.
Seventh seed Alex Bogdanovic is also in action playing Eric Quigley of America in round one but was defeated in three sets.
Baker will also be looking to improve upon his doubles ranking when he partners New Zealand's Danie King-Turner, while Bogdanovic had teamed up with Kirill Kasyanov but the duo missed out in the opening round.
