Monday, April 18, 2011

The 2010 winter leaderboards have been finalised and the 2011 summer leaderboards are now live on the LTA website.  Leaderboards allow players who are competing on the Winter Tours to track their progress, just as the top players do on the ATP/WTA Tours.  There are multiple leaderboards now in operation across the three tour levels – Winter National (Grade 2), Regional (Grade 3) and County (Grade 4 & 5) Tours.

There is one Leaderboard for players who have competed on the Winter National Tour.  Players who have played in the Winter Regional Tour will find themselves on one of a possible seven leaderboards in the South East, East, South West, Midlands, North, Scotland and Wales, depending on where they are from.

Most importantly each county has its own Winter County Tour Leaderboard from 9U to 18U as the players battle it out in the Grade 4 and Grade 5 events.

In BERKSHIRE the players who topped of the Winter County Tour leaderboards at 9U level were Anirudhha Hazarika and Ella Drake.  Anirudhha Hazarika most recently finishing 3rd at the Greenacre Mini Tennis County Tour nament whilst Ella Drake reached the top spot by achieving a 1st  place finish at the Grade 4 OnHotels.Com Spring Junior Open Bradfield 2011

In the 10U Leaderboard Callum Rendle finished top of the boys and Sophie Dragan topped the girls.  Callum Rendle recently was the runner-up at Winter Grade 4 Winter Copunty Tournament in Middlesex whilst Sophie Dragan  achieved a 5th place finish at the  Grade 3 Thongsbridge Junior Open in North Yorkshire.

In the yellow ball age groups the following players finished first in the boys 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U leaderboards in BERKSHIRE:  Tobias Ryan, Matthew Slater, Fraser Ashman and   Harry F-C Thomas headed up their respective age groups.
