Berkshire Winter League is a well run league programme that gives clubs in Berkshire LTA and surrounding areas that are affiliated to the LTA the opportunity to play a wider group of players. It is open to any clubs registered to Berkshire LTA and nearby counties to participate. You can enter as many Boys and Girls 12U, 14U and 18U teams but the team members must be a current affiliated member of the club they are representing in the competition. The league runs from early October to the end of March.
Invitation to South Bucks Clubs: This year, for the first time, Berkshire will be extending an invitation to clubs in South Bucks within a reasonable travel time in order to provide appropriate competition. We will be running a “Premier Division” for 12U, 14U and 18U age groups Boys and Girls. Dependent on number of entries, these will have teams of 4 players with unrestricted ratings playing 4 singles and 2 doubles. We would expect only clubs in Berkshire with squad sizes that can support a team of 4 players (with at least 3 reserves for the season) to enter.
League Planner: We will be using the British Tennis Tournament website (http://lta.tournamentsoftware.com/) Team captains will need to familiarise themselves with the site to enter results. Instructions will be provided at a later date.
British Tennis Member: All players must have a valid BTM number and ensure that they are affiliated and active in their personal membership status area on the LTA website: https://www2.lta.org.uk/Login/
Up-To-Date Contact: Please ensure that team captain has an up to date e-mail address which will ensure a quick and appropriate response to queries from fellow organisers/captains. Each team needs an adult captain who has been informed how to enter results on the website. In particular coach led junior programmes and clubs are having difficulty managing too many teams and need to delegate responsibility to an adult team captain. The team captain should be confirming availability of their players at the very least two weeks before scheduled dates.
If you have problems deciding nominations or getting your Treasurer to provide a cheque by the due date then please do not delay in sending your Entry Form. It is essential that we know the number of teams being entered as soon as possible.
We enclose the Information/Rules and Potential Round dates, Entry Form, Nomination Form for the "Premier Division" and Competition Age Group Conversion Chart. If you would like to participate please send the completed Entry and Nomination Forms, where appropriate, this can be either e-mailed to berkshirewinterleague@gmail.com or posted to Winter League Organiser, together with a cheque payable to "Berkshire LTA" by Monday 9th September.
