The weekend kicked off on the Saturday with all the first round matches at Wargrave Tennis Club. The weather was boiling and the tennis was great. Was good to see so many players from clubs all around the county.
The warm weather continued through to the Finals day on Sunday.
The boys event saw Sebastian Harris (Maidenhead) beat Rhys Evans (Royal Berkshire) in the first SF and Callum Rendle (Royal Berkshire) beat Oliver Hills (Maidenhead) in the other SF
It was Sebastian Harris (Maidenhead LTC) who went on to be crowned the winner of the Berkshire Road to Wimbledon, beating Callum Rendle (Royal Berkshire) in the final 6-0, 6-3
In the girls events Diketso Karas (Windsor Lawn Tennis Club) played her twin Sister Khumo Karas (Windsor Lawn Tennis Club) in the first SF and Olivia Barnard (Bracknell Tennis Club) beat Isabella Bowater (Caverhsam Lawn Tennis Club) in the second Sf
It was Diketso Karas (Windsor Lawn Tennis Club) who went on to win the Road to Wimbledon beating Olivia Barnard (Bracknell Tennis Club) in the final 6-0 6-1
This means Seb & Diketso now have the opportunity to play on the hallowed turf at Wimbledon together with the winners from 44 other counties later in August.
