Inspired by Andy Murray and Laura Robson at Wimbledon? The Royal Ascot Tennis Club is holding a Play Tennis For Free Day on the 14th July, on their four floodlit courts. If you’re keen to keep fit outdoors this summer, come along and try the Tennis Club. Open to all ages, and all standards from the most expert of players to very beginners keen to play.
Unlike Andy Murray, you don’t have to play it for more than three hours at a time, it is a game for all ages, and a brilliant way to keep fit while developing coordination skills and encourages agility, speed and endurance.
Come along and you can try the clubs facilities for free from 11am-4pm.
The Royal Ascot Tennis club is a year round club with numerous social events through the year. The events take place in the spacious club house at Ascot Wood, and include suppers, barbeques and Christmas parties.
The club has teams at all levels in the Berkshire summer and winter leagues, and have club sessions three times a week through the year for players of all standards. There is coaching at all levels and for all ages, and an annual club championship tournament and other fun tournaments through the summer.
Whether you are England’s next Wimbledon Champion or completely new to the game, the 14th July is completely free to try the sport. If you’re keen to learn how to play tennis or those that are returning to the sport, come along, meet other members, hit some balls and ask any questions. Children also welcome. Refreshments will also be available.
Those wishing to join the club will also be able to join with the usual joining fee waived. You do not have to join to enjoy the free day. There are novice, junior, daytime, student and full adult membership levels, for those wishing to join the club on the day.
