A superb match was played yesterday between Reading Blue Coat and Highdown School in the Year 8 Boy’s Team Tennis Competition Berkshire final.
Blue Coat was up 3 – 1 in the singles, but this came down to the wire with the two number 1 seeds (Berkshire No 1 & 2 Seed) battling it out. It went to a tie-break and we just managed to get the break and win 7 – 5 in the tie.
Going into the doubles it was also close, we managed to secure the important win with our number 3 & 4 pair (6 – 4) and came from 5 – 3 down in the number 1 & 2 pair to win in a tie-break 7 – 4.
Blue Coat won the fixture 10 rubbers to 2 rubbers, but it was a highly contested affair and either team could of won.
Well done to both schools and all who competed in the Year 8 competition!
