LTA award for Princes Risborough Tennis Club
The tennis club in the centre of Princes Risborough has been given a prestigious award by the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA).
The LTA awards Clubmark status to clubs that meet high standards in the activities and services they provide to members. Over the last six months the club in New Road, Princes Risborough, has improved the tennis programme on offer at the club, especially for junior players, has reviewed the way the club is managed, and has created a clear plan of action to ensure the future development and sustainability of the club.
Rob Ellis, LTA Tennis Development Manager for Bucks, presented the club with the award at their AGM last month. Mr Ellis said: "It is a great credit to everyone involved at Princes Risborough Tennis Club that they have managed to achieve Clubmark status within just six months of starting the project. A huge amount of work has been put in, which is evident from what the club now offers its members, and I am pleased to present the club with their Clubmark award."
Stephen Biggs, committee member responsible for leading the club's application said: "We are very proud of everything we've achieved at the club in a short space of time. It just goes to show that you don't have to be a massive club to offer tennis players in our area a great place to play. We have coaching, competitive opportunities and social play for players of all ages and abilities, as well as plans to improve our facilities over the next few years. We always welcome new members and would encourage anyone who enjoys the sport to come down to the club or get in touch."
