The Halton Everyball International Academy Indoor Tournament attracted record entries for the event which ran from 27-31 December at Halton Tennis Centre. There were a total of 327 players – with events for 8 & Under players up to 14 & Under. In the 8 & Under Mixed event several Halton players won through to the knock-out event, with Ethan Rose, Joshua Oakley, DJ Mentiply and Harry Shawyer making it through to the Quarter Finals. DJ Mentiply lost in the Semi-Finals to the eventual winner Sean Neveling who beat a fellow Hertfordshire player Ivan Raath 10-6.
The 12 & Under Girls semi-final featured Halton's Alexandra Hildreth who lost to Danielle Daley (Middlesex) and Eloise Saraty (Surrey) who lost to Essence Martins (Middlesex). The final was an extremely closely-fought match with Essence winning 10-7 in the third set tie-break. Halton's Scarlett Hutchinson reached the Consolation Final where she had a close match but lost 6-4 6-3 to No. 4 seed Kia Carvalho-Landell.
The 12 & Under Boys final between No. 1 seed Rahul Dhokia (Leics) and No. 3 seed Tom Watts (Herts) was stopped after two games when Tom had to retire due to a back injury.
In the 10 & Under Girls final Abigail Michelow (Essex) and Mia Faulkner (Warwicks) produced some great tennis in a close-fought match which Abigail won 5-4 4-1. The 10 & Under Boys final was between Connor Ferguson (Oxon) and Joe Collins (Herts) with Connor emerging the winner 4-1 4-2.
The 14 & Under Boys Singles Final was between local boys Jack Molloy (Halton) and Michael Shaw (Milton Keynes) when Jack had the edge to win 6-2 6-4 in a very high quality match. The 14 & Under Girls Singles Final featured No. 1 seed Shanice Marshall-Sofia (Beds) and unseededMegan Forster (Berks) who had beaten the No. 2 seed earlier in the tournament. Again they produced some great tennis with Megan winning 6-4 6-3.
The final event of the tournament was the 9 & Under boys and girls singles which had attracted a huge entry from all over the country. The girls event was won by Prianka Dhokia (Leics) who beat Isabelle Eaton (Suffolk), with Halton's Bethan Miles coming 3rd in the round robin box and winning through to the Final of the 3rd place elimination draw. In the boys' competition the main final was won by Oliver Tarvet (Herts) who beat Scott Whiting (Norfolk) 7-4 7-3. Halton's Joel Good was 2nd in his round-robin box and won the 2nd place elimination final, beating Ben Feltham (Herts) 7-3 7-3.
