Coach of the Year
Second place: Neil James, club coach with Penn and Tyler’s Green Tennis Club
Also, during the recent Christmas break, the Men’s Under 30s and Over 30s resumed their healthy rivalry in the annual tournament. Despite the rather damp weather, there was some fiery tennis played by both teams and many of the rubbers were hotly contested. Many of the juniors in the under 30s, including Robbie Norridge and Alex Smiley, put in impressive performances on the day which bodes well for the future of the Men’s teams – especially now that the Men’s 1st team managed to consolidate their position in the Bucks Premier division by finishing Runners up in 2012 and our Men’s 3rd team also gained promotion.
The end result on the day was a closely fought 14-11 win to the under 30s, gaining them revenge after last year’s devastating loss. That brings the total head to head to 5-2 in the over 30s favor!
Thanks to all those who braved the wet and windy conditions to play. At least it didn’t snow!
