Edward Crowston and Thomas Hattam at Wooburn Timed Tennis Tournament

Competition is at the heart of British Tennis. To make competition fun and exciting and to make it easier for players to plan their competition with parents and coaches, timed matches will be introduced at selected competitions this summer.

The first Bucks Red Timed Tennis Tournament was held at Wooburn Park Tennis Club.  Instead of playing the first to 10 points the children play for 10 minutes then whoever has the most points wins the match.  Janet Jamieson, the organiser, said the event was a great success and parents and players alike enjoyed the new format.

Edward Crowston won the first Bucks Timed Tennis Tournament held at Wooburn Park LTC on Saturday 13 June, with Thomas Hattam runner-up.

• Helps to support an enjoyable experience at competitions, bringing young players back for more
• Helps clubs better plan their court usage, balancing competition and members’ usage
