David Claydon of Stoke Poges LTC recently peacefully passed away in hospital surrounded by his family.
He was a member of the Club for many years including a long period as Chairman.
He successfully led the Club to have floodlights we now enjoy today and ensured there were excellently drained good court surfaces. There were so many other voluntary things he did for the benefit of the Club and members, for which we are most grateful.
He played tennis to a high standard in teams for decades, well into his retirement. He played for Buckinghamshire and was awarded County Colours.
He will be missed by many Club members and the wider community of Stoke Poges.
A well attended memorial service took place on 4th March at St Giles’ church, Stoke Poges. The LTA Buckinghamshire County President – Keith Dewick as well as past and present Club members were present.
