8U County Success
Zac Peters, Josh Fienberg and Benji Orr-Ewing recently attended a selection event for the Bucks 8 and under county tennis squad training at Halton Tennis Centre.
The selection event took the form of a match play on a mini red court. During the event the best competitors based on results, attitude and skills on court were selected to attend county training sessions. Zac, Josh and Benji were picked along with 17 other boys from schools in and around the county. This is a fantastic achievement considering their young age (they still have another year is this age group).
Zac, Josh and Benji will attend 3 training sessions before Christmas and then a block of 5 further training sessions in the new year leading up to the event. At the end of the training sessions a team of 6 boys will be selected out of the 20 to represent Bucks in the Eight Counties East Area Event 2016 (March/April).
Tennace Director at GXLTC, Bull Lane Andy Scholfield is delighted the boys have achieved this target. ‘They have worked very hard showing good commitment to squad training with Tennace Aspirantes squads, individual coaching and tournament play’.
‘They join other Tennace Aspirantes: Alex Thomas (GXCofE School), Josh Sangha (Stoke Poges), Millie Shuttle (Maltmans Green) and Anoushka Patel (Maltmans Green) in the Bucks County under 8 training.
