“Let’s see if we can encourage more teams to play more tennis” was the thought behind the new format for the Monkhouse Shield. Eighty players in thirteen boys teams and 7 girls teams represented their clubs at the event held at Congleton 22nd September which turned out to be a glorious day.  A reduced scoring format was used to enable the whole event to be crammed into the day.

Over 250 people were in attendance for the 2013 Cheshire LTA Presentation Evening, which took place at the Mere Golf and Country Club on 15th October 2013.

Macclesfield’s Antony Cotterill goes into this week’s ITF Wheelchair Doubles Masters on the crest of a wave after reaching his first ITF 1 Series quad singles final and winning his first ITF 1 Series quad doubles final in Nottingham.

After winning the Cheshire county award for Young volunteer Tom has taken it one step further by winning the national prize for the category, showing his work within his club and community has been exceptional over the past years.

Macclesfield’s Antony Cotterill has finished fourth in his debut at the ITF Wheelchair Doubles Masters, the year-end championship for the world’s top wheelchair tennis doubles players and returned form the USA earlier this week to find he has also moved up one place to a new career best singles ranking of No. 7.

Hale LTC have a regular junior evening on Friday's, from mini reds through to yellow ball tennis.  Realising it fell on the same night as Children in Need it was decided that we would have an evening to celebrate.

It has been decided to launch a small loan scheme for clubs in Cheshire, using the Balance Sheet Reserves built up by the County over many years.

Cheshire LTA is pleased to announce the addition of Alfie to the team. He is the figure head of Mini Green tennis and will be available to hire for club events in Cheshire.

Cheshire men were looking to “bounce back” after suffering the disappointment of relegation in 2012. It was always going to be a tough in Group 3 containing Hampshire, Suffolk and Dorset. The squad of eight players included the experienced Seb Jackson, Jonny Kinsella, Jordan McCulloch and Callum Lloyd, and also Nick Eeckelaers, Alex Grocott, Sean Sivewright and James Keighley who were making their Winter Cup debuts.
