On Thursday 31st May under glorious sunshine Penzance Tennis Club staged their Primary School Competition. Eight schools from around the Penwith area took part in the competition and there were some great games all through the morning. All the players that took part seemed to really enjoy competing and everyone was rewarded by getting a Free Tennis Racket courtesy of the Lawn Tennis Association. Special thanks to Ann Williams Cornwall LTA for coming down to Penzance and presenting the prizes to all the children.
Congratulations to Alverton Primary school ( Zoe May, Rowan Cruikshank, Sam Lancaster and Emile Boucher) who were the eventual winners of the competition and they will go to Newquay for the schools finals.
I would like to thank Sue Mander at Mounts Bay and all her Tennis Leaders for doing such a great job umpiring on the day. I would also like to thank all the schools that took part on the day and of course Sammy Bassett for doing a fantastic job running the event.
