The AEGON Team Tennis 9U event was hosted by Penzance Tennis Club on Sunday 13th May.
The teams from Truro and St Agnes had to withdraw, which meant that the competition was between Penzance, Heron and Dragon.
The weather was wonderful and ideal conditions for playing tennis.
Unfortunately Heron ( Newquay) only came down with two players but we were very grateful of there effort and support on the day, well played to Kate Harrison and Harrision Reynolds for representing Heron.
The Penzance team Ellyn Calveley, Holly Drew, William Randall and Cameron Boase got off to a good start. Dragon also had a strong win and this meant it was down to these teams to decide who would be the champions.
After some very close singles matches and an amazing doubles match to finish off Dragon finally won over Penzance by a very close 12-8 scoreline.
Congratulations to the winning team Jowan Rawson, Owen Young, Sam Kibblewhie and Sam Trudgian. The winners on the day were presented with medals and Babolat towels.
A big thank you to all the coaches that organised the teams for the AEGON event and to Sammy Bassett who did an amazing job organizing things as usual with great support from all the parents on the day.
