On Monday 30th April representatives from Hampshire & IOW LTA, Sport Hampshire & IOW and Sport Solent teamed up to promote Allplay and in particular the new programmes that have been recently launched across Southampton.
Several thousand students enquired and went away with information to support them in their journey in to the sport, 88 students signed up and created their free online profile on www.allplaytennis.com.
Also on offer was information on the Sport Makers programme which offers brilliant volunteering opportunities and a chance to be involved with the Olympic Legacy. If you would like to become a Sport Maker then visit http://www.sportmakers.co.uk/, an easy way to complete your 10 hours is to log on to www.allplaytennis.com and play 10 matches and log the results.
Southampton Solent University have been successful in their application to host a University Tennis Coordinator from September 2012, this post graduate position will add great value to the students and to tennis development in the City. The UTC will be working hard to create new and innovative programmes to get more students active whilst at University and continue to drive the good work that is already being done closely supported by Hampshire & IOW LTA.
One lucky student also went away with a brand new Babolat racket so no excuses!
It has never been easier to play tennis in Southampton.
