This year’s AEGON Trophy is the pinnacle event during the week-long Nottingham Tennis Experience which runs over half-term from May 29-June 6 2010 at the Nottingham Tennis Centre.
Entry to watch this year’s tournament is free providing you with the opportunity to catch some of the top players in action as they start their Wimbledon preparations on the grass at no cost.
The tournament includes a $42,000 ATP Challenger event for the men and a $50,000 ITF women’s event, making it a key date in the 2010 grass court tennis calendar.
A high standard of International and UK players are expected again at the AEGON Trophy.
Top Players
Last year saw current Top 100 player Maria Elena Camerin (Italy) win the Women’s singles beating Stefanie Voegele (Switzerland) and one of the semi finalists included Yanina Wickmayer (Belgium) who has since become a Top 10.
Many of the top British players are expected as well as many overseas players who will be competing at Wimbledon and come to Nottingham to get valuable grass court play.
With the qualifying starting on the 29th May before the main draws start on the 31st. The event culminates over the weekend of the 5th and 6th with the Women’s final on Saturday the 5th followed by the Men’s on Sunday 6th.
