Moving on to the main draw, the Margate Junior was pitched against Freddie Walker in the quarters, winning by a decisive 4-0, 4-2. That took Alfie on to the semi-finals of the competition where he played Janil Patel. Alfie took the first set 4-2, lost the second 2-4 but then won the match 10-4 in the deciding tiebreak.

Come the final and Alfie faced up to the competition’s Number 2 seed James King, taking the match 4-2, 4-2 in a resounding win.

For Alfie, the event was a great day out, winning some very tough matches and coming through very strong to take the tournament title.
