 Maidstone Open Winter Tournament

Now in its 34th year, the Maidstone Open Championships continues to be the pre-eminent winter tennis tournament for the county of Kent.

Previously known as the Kent Messenger Winter Tournament until 2009, the tournament has attracted players from across the county.

It enables club players to gain the kudos of competing in a county wide event – this year in an effort to appeal to a wider standard of players; the draw is being extended to offer both elite and club standard competitions in both doubles and singles.

There is also a number of veterans draws to continue to attract a wider number of players.

The rounds take place across Kent at player’s local clubs from October to March and on Sunday 4th March the finals are played at Freedom Leisure Tennis Club in Maidstone.  As their courts are under bubbles in the winter, play is not subject to the vagaries of weather and the culmination of the tournament is guaranteed on this day.

After the finals there will be an after party celebrating the ending of another successful year.
