5 teams from Kent were in the County Finals which took place at the David Lloyd Club in Dudley on 2nd – 4th November.
Unfortunately only 1 team was successful – the Ladies over 70s successfully retained their 2011 title, beating Surrey by a narrow margin, 1 set and 4 games!
The team for 2012 was captained by non-playing Cynthia Smith and the team members were Ruth Illingworth and Marcia Ackers (1st pair) and Helen Jary and Janet Broster (2nd pair). Ruth and Marcia lost their first ever rubber after a partnership of 2 years, losing to Ruth Weston and Jean Porter in 3 sets. The match was so close, it came down to a match tiebreak which the Surrey pair won 12-10.
Thankfully, as the pair won a set, they secured the win for Kent for the second year running! Helen and Janet had a very convincing win also, against the Surreys 2nd pair, only losing 6 games!

The over 65s Ladies came runners up to Middlesex, losing 0-4.
The over 50s Ladies were runners up, losing to Essex 1-3.
The over 50s Men’s team were also runners up, losing to Leicestershire 0-3. Finally, the over 65s Men’s team narrowly lost 2-3 to Cheshire, coming runners up!
