Budding sporting talent, Anna Chesca, is being been supported by a Charnwood Borough Council grant.
Ten-year-old Chesca of Greenfield Tennis Club has been handed a £250 Talented Athlete Grant towards coaching and equipment costs. At the age of 10 Anna is an up and coming tennis player, coming fifth in the National Championships and recently playing in an international match, representing Great Britain.
Anna’s dad Boris said: “The Babolat rackets we managed to buy for Anna from this Sport Grant provide the ideal conditions for a smooth transition from junior to senior tennis ball for her that will enhance her potential to progress even further.
Coun David Snartt, Charnwood Borough Council’s Cabinet member for neighbourhood services, said: “I love this scheme. With Charnwood at the heart of the Olympics next year, it is more important than ever to support our borough’s sporting talent and hopefully encourage others to take up sport and live healthier lifestyles.”
