The Thursday before Christmas saw a meeting between Leicestershire and Northamptonshire Boys U18 teams for their annual pre-Christmas inter-county ‘friendly’.
Organised by Charles Henley, and taking place this year at Kings Park Tennis Centre, Northampton, this event has taken place for a number of years now and is always a closely fought affair.
The first round saw all three of the Leicestershire pairs winning, with an especially commendable performance by the Leics 2nd pair over the Northants 1st pair.
However, the second round saw a complete reversal of momentum with Northants winning all 3 rubbers, which meant that there was all to play for in the final round.
Leicestershire, however, kept up the heat with the 2nd and 3rd pairs winning their respective rubbers, resulting in a final score of 5-4 in Leicestershire’s favour.
Congratulations to all the Leicestershire boys – a great time had by all and a good win against quality opposition!
