Carisbrooke Tennis Club in Leicester were celebrating this after the club was awarded LTA clubmark accreditation. The club have become the twenty third in Leicestershire to achieve the accreditation.
Tennis Clubmark recognises good practice in tennis clubs in areas including action planning, tennis development programmes, policies and procedures and communication. Carisbrooke have been working hard during recent months to put together the Tennis Clubmark folder with evidence of their range of activities and how the club is run.
Paul Sheard, LTA Tennis Development Manager for Leicestershire and Derbyshire visited Carisbrooke to present the clubmark plaque and congratulate the club committee on their efforts.
“I would like to congratulate Carisbrooke on achieving clubmark accreditation. Jack Simpson, the new Head Coach at the club has done a fantastic job pulling together all the evidence required to meet the tennis clubmark criteria and show that they are meeting the quality benchmark set out by Sport England. It’s been a great effort by the club and its volunteers and demonstrates their commitment to provide the best possible opportunities and environment for the local tennis community” said Paul.
Paul continued "Jack has been in post for less than six months but has already done a great job growing the coaching programme and the club will once again be delivering tennis sessions at Knighton Park later this summer".
