Campion School Invited to Westminister Tennis Competition

Friday, May 23, 2014

Campion School in Daventry was one of ten lucky schools who won the Road to Westministers Schools Competition. The Road to Westminsters Schools Competition is an exciting digital competition, aimed at young people, that gives them an opportunity to talk about, and celebrate the tennis they play in school.

Primary, special, and secondary schools were invited to create a short video showcasing ways in which their pupils are taking part in tennis, not just by playing but in other ways across the curriculum that engages the whole school community.

These short videos were then judged by a panel including representatives from British tennis, as well as Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson and the British Tennis Youth Group. The panel were looking for submissions that demonstrated innovative ways of delivering tennis and the promotion of a healthy and active lifestyle through tennis with a focus on enjoyment and respect between pupils.

Congratulations to Campion school who won was one of the lucky schools, and will now play under Big Ben at the Houses of Parliament in London with some of the stars of British tennis.
