Avenue Tennis Club Coach Barry Ramsden is organising a Post Christmas Swap Shop and Table Top Sale with all proceeds going to Save the Children. The Table Top Sale will take part at Avenue Tennis Club’s on Sunday 3rd February from 10 am. Tables are limited and can be reserved by contacting Barry on 07749 782758. Barry said this is a good opportunity for people to either swap items, sell unneeded or duplicate gifts or just de-clutter themselves of items that they no longer need and may be of use to other people at a bargain. A raffle with some fantastic prizes donated by members of the club including a gliding flight, a sailing lesson and a clay pigeon shoot will also be held.
With the Australian Open taking place during the next 2 weeks, a reminder to parents from Avenue’s Head Coach Vinny Duddy that the club run tennis coaching sessions for juniors every night of the week and on Saturdays for every age group and ability . Group coaching for adults takes place on Fridays (6.30 pm till 8 pm) and on Saturdays (2 pm till 3:30 pm); all coaching is available to non members or alternatively you can arrange private 1 to 1 coaching for you or your children (contact office 01278 782758). The club has competitive and social play organised throughout the week or as members you can come along and play with your friends and family. A New Adult Membeship Offer is available at the club with 10 lessons and membership up to the end of March 13 for £50.
The club’s coaches will also be running a Junior Holiday Tennis Club from Monday 11th February to Friday 15th February from 9 am till 4 pm daily aimed at teaching tennis through fun games and skills; forms available at the club or from the website (www.avenuetennis.com).
