Avenue Tennis Club hold Boxing Day Tournament

Ellie May Vohra won her second Avenue Tennis Club Adult Tournament on Boxing Day winning all 4 of her doubles matches with partner Tom Holder.  Although only 12, Ellie May, a member of the Avenue’s Junior Academy Squad now holds the Jan Mackay and Ron Hines Memorial Trophies for 2012/13.  Head Coach Vinny Duddy said he was really pleased with Ellie Mays achievements so far to date and said he expected more of the same in the future.  

He was keen to point out that the Avenue have a range of organised social tennis play sessions throughout the week, during the day and evenings for both juniors and adults.  The club run several ladies and mens teams throughout the year in the North Somerset League which together with probably the best tennis facilities in Somerset made it a club for all standards of players, new and old to the game.  Head Coach Vinny says the club are always keen to encourage new members to the club and have a New Year Special Membership offer which will include 10 lessons for £50 and membership of the club from January to March 2013.  The lessons are on a Friday evening  (6:30 pm till 8 pm) and/or a Saturday afternoon (2 pm till 3:30 pm). 

Saturday Pay and Play Tennis reccommences in the New Year on the 5th January from 9 am, Tennis Tots at 10 am along with Adult coaching in the afternoon from 2 pm till 3:30 pm with evening tennis squad coaching starting on Monday 7th January.
