Somerset-born Dan Manlow plans to cross the Atlantic and return home from America after coaching full-time at the John McEnroe Tennis Centre in New York City.
Manlow, who has represented the county at all levels, first crossed the pond back in 2008 when he joined the University of Alabama studying Sport and Health. He played tennis for the college for all four of his years there before graduating last year in 2012.
During his last year at UAB he was also coaching tennis alongside his studies, from which he went on to get a full-time job as a staff-professional at the John McEnroe Tennis Academy in Manhatten.
After a successful few months at the centre, Manlow has decided it is time to return home to Britain and is targeting another job in the tennis industry; anything from coaching to management.
A long term plan of globe-trotting is also on the agenda. The Wellington man wants to travel the world and work in tennis in all different countries over the next decade, wanting to get a taste of things before deciding where to settle.
The busy lifestyle of New York City has treated him well during his time there, but Manlow misses the countryside of back home and might well be looking forward to some well-deserved shut eye when he leaves the city that never sleeps.
