A feast of Tennis action was on show at the Martock tennis club half-term festival with seven tournaments being played on the courts throughout the week.
The club hosted a huge weekend-long event that welcomed young players of all ages and abilities. There was tournament action for all involved and a lot of great tennis was played on the four courts of the Martock club.
The under 8s mixed singles event saw Hugo Foley emerge as the winner after winning all five of his matches. Samuel Raad won the under 9s mixed singles event after beating Ben Sanzo in the final. The under 12s boys singles was won by Harry Burrow, who beat Joseph O’Hagan in straight sets in the final.
Jacques Lawes was the winner of the under 14s boys singles after he beat Callum Mock in a close final. Over in the under 16s boys singles, Oscar Haywood was on top form as he dropped just five games en route to winning the tournament.
The under 18s boys singles saw Gus Haywood come out victorious after beating Danny Flynn in the final; 4-1, 5-3. Trixie Nicholson won the only all-girls tournament, beating Bartlett Isabel 4-1, 4-0 in the final of the under 14s girls singles draw.
The festival proved to be a roaring success and the club could well be planning on hosting another over the summer months.
