Suffolk players were successful at the National Fostering Agency tournament held at Ipswich Sports Club over Easter. The tournament, which had an increased entry from previous years, took place in fine sunny conditions, with some excellent performances from some of the county’s most promising junior players.
14U Harper Mills led the way with wins in the 16U & 18U boys as well as in the men’s doubles with partner, Jack Jarvis. Joshua Stokes, runner up in the 16U went one better in the 14U running out a convincing winner against Lucas Walker. Stokes also won the 14U boys doubles with partner Alex Ringwood. In the men’s singles, Tom Skinner from Middlesex beat Suffolk’s Harry Wilson.
In the 12U girls, Suffolk’s Alana Bristow lost a close final to Sophia Middleton from Leicestershire.
In the mini tennis events, the 8U boys was won by Freddie Clark (Suffolk) with Lisa Bolton (Kent) winning the girls 8U. The 9U boys was won by Herbie Morris (Suffolk) with Michaela Yeung (Hertfordshire) winning the girls event. Otto Friedlein (Essex) was successful in the 10U boys with Bethany Gardens (Suffolk) taking the 10U girls.
