GOOD LUCK to three of our Suffolk schools tennis teams who have got through to the AEGON Team Tennis Schools Year 8 and 10 Regional Quarter finals this week.
AEGON Team tennis for years 8 and 10 aims to provide players of all abilities with the opportunity to compete in a school team tennis competition, with the more successful teams able to progress on a pathway to a National Final.
The entry period for 2012 opened early in December 2011 and closed on January 20th 2012. Entry is free and the first 400 teams to enter receive 3 dozen Babolat tennis balls. Local league matches are played between April and July, then Division 1 winners progress through to knockout rounds from September. At the Regional Quarter Finals, each team will have to play three other teams, and the winner of each will progress through to the National Finals.
Two girls teams from Ipswich High School – the year 8 and 10 teams, have made it through to the Quarter Finals and will be battling it out tomorrow for their place in the National Final. On Friday we shall see our Culford year 8 boys team fighting for their chance to reach the Final too.
GOOD LUCK to all our Suffolk competitors.
