This weekend sees our mighty Men’s team competing in the nationwide AEGON Winter County Cup competition, and having dealt with the challenge of Division Two in the Summer they now travel to SheffieldConfident of further success in their highest ever Winter Group 3B.
Inspirational captain Jeremy Cowley found that competition for places was fiercer than ever, and he has widely elected a squad comprising youth and experience to take on the West of Scotland, Leicestershire and Berkshire.Leading the side with Cowley will be Ben Smith and Myles Orton, and these three have the sort of quality needed to anchor the side. Paul Midgley was impressive last year, and with one eye on the future, he is joined by fellow juniors Ryan Lambert, Rohan Abel and James Ling, Elliot Street completing the line-up. The ever-determined Cowley looks forward to the weekend with this typical comment, “The minimum requirement is to maintain our status as we did in the Summer, but anything short of promotion will be a disappointment for a team used to winning and succeeding.”

OCTOBER: 7 teams competed in a very successful quiz on the 19th
NOVEMBER: A number of seniors participated in the 23rd Suffolk Indoor Veterans’ Tournament at the Ipswich Sports Club.
JUNIOR COMPETITION: Several juniors are completing a series of Grade 6 Tournaments within the club, with a good entry received.
WINTER LEAGUE: Varied success so far in the 2012 Winter League.
COACHING PROGRAMME: With the Indoor “Bubble” the Winter Coaching continues right up to the weekend before Christmas.
