Congratulations to the Surrey Men's and Ladies' teams who had a very successful weekend in the 2014 Aegon Winter County Cup.
Surrey Ladies ended Hertfordshire's dominance of the Aegon Winter County Cup event and left the University of Bath with the silverware on Sunday evening. It was the first fime since 2001 that Surrey Ladies have been crowned champions.
Surrey Ladies were dominant from the start and following their victory team captain, Mandy Spicer, said 'It was exciting to be playing in Winter Cup Group One for the first time having been captain for seven years. We have worked hard to get here and built up a great team spirit on and off the court. We knew we had a chance with the depth in our team; the girls came up trumps and I am very proud of them.'
The Men's team, playing in Division 2a at Redbridge, beat Middlesex, Cheshire and Yorkshire to top the Group, thus ensuring promotion to Division 1 for 2015.
