Most competitive and social tennis at Club level is centred round doubles play. Henley Tennis Club have identified a need for regular singles play and are introducing two sessions to cater for this.
The men’s section is holding a monthly play on Thursday evening – the next session being on 13th December starting at 7pm. Anyone interested should contact Stewart Kent on 07973 727641 or Neil Supperstone on 07912 664426.

Following on from a successful Tapas lunch last month, the Club is brimming with Christmas cheer with a Christmas Tournament and Curry Evening on Thursday 6th December, a Christmas Lunch at the Crabmill on 14th December and Social Tennis with mince pies and mulled wine on Sunday 16th December.
Not forgetting the Juniors! – the Club is supporting local sports training organisation, Coolsportz, who have launched a Wednesday evening Introduction to Tennis Course for Girls aged 9 – 11, which will initially run until 5th December. Sessions will continue after that and further information can be obtained from Neil Supperstone on 07912 664426. This follows a successful taster session for 50 children from Henley and Wootton Primary Schools introducing them to the Club and to the game.
These events followed a busy summer and autumn culminating in a Junior Tournament with 27 players taking part in 3 different competitions. This included a mini orange (9 and under) tournament of which Alex Didlick was the winner. In addition there were two separate doubles competitions with 22 players taking part. There were some fantastic matches with the eventual winners being Bradley Smith and Max Beishon in one of the groups and Alex Evans and Louis Walsh in the other group. The Club’s 16 & under Christmas Tournament will take place on Saturday 8th December.
