At Berkshire LTA’s recent AGM, Hon Secretary Valerie Holden informed Club Representatives that both Tennis Development Manager Jo-Ann Downing & Tennis Services Assistant Mem Aldridge have retired and been replaced by David Reeve & Alec Cane. David was previously TDM for Bucks & Alec prior to University had played in both Maidenhead & Windsor junior tournaments.
David & Alec will be based at the Bucks Indoor Tennis Centre Hub Office for Berks, Bucks & Oxford however the Woodley Office will be retained for the time being where Irene Ballantine is employed on a part-time basis.
New BLTA Councillors elected were Rob Walters (Shinfield) & Midge Cox (Wokingham) whilst John Tanner (Kintbury) was re-elected. James Fawcett (Slough) volunteered for the vacant Sponsorship role.
After the formal business Alan Frampton (Wimbledon Ticket Administrator) explained the new process for allocation & distribution of Wimbledon Championship tickets for 2013.This will be done by LTA Headquarters staff instead of locally. It has already proved successful in a cross section of Counties this year & clearly will save Berkshire LTA a great deal of time & effort.
