What a great weekend for Berkshire Tennis. The Under 8s Winter League event took place on Sunday 10th Feb 2013 at The Royal Berkshire Club in Bracknell.
Each team consisted of 4 players meaning a total of 40 players played on the one day. Each player got 4 matches against the same seeded player.
The day kicked off with the first of two groups. The "Robson" group was competed between Maidenhead, Wargrave, Greenacre, Latika and Bracknell. Some close matches were on show and the eventual winners were Maidenhead.
The second group, the "Sharapova" group, kicked off straight after the first. This group consisted of Shinfield, Windsor, Latika, Bradfield and RBC. Just like the first group, all the matches were very close and some great tennis was on show. The winner of this group was Bradfield.
The level of tennis was extremely high and everyone played very well. Special thanks to all the parents/coaches/team captains for arranging the teams and getting them to the Venue. A big special thank you to Liz Fidler for organising such an amazing day. Would also like to thank the 8 GCSE pupils for Charters School you gave up their own time to be scorers for the day.
