Everyone for Tennis

Wednesday, January 09, 2013

Certificates have been presented to a group of children who have been enjoying mini tennis sessions as part of the Olympic Legacy.

Four sessions a week have been run at Woodlands Park village centre since November for 35 youngsters aged between 5 and 11. Coaching was provided by the Bisham based Win Tennis (Melanie Hill and Fiona Sim) and a presentation ceremony on Tuesday last week was attended by the Mayor of Windsor and Maidenhead, Cllr Colin Rayner.

The sessions sponsored by White Waltham Parish Council start again this month. Parish councillor Heather Scott said the children had enjoyed them and added, "It’s a good way of teaching them a bit co-ordination and getting them interested in the game".
