Claire Woods has won the Volunteer of the Month award for February. Claire has been volunteering at Pangbourne Tennis Club for the past seven years developing the junior section of the club and is now focusing on the transition from junior to adult tennis for their teenage members.
Whilst running the junior section at the club, Claire encourages the parents into tennis and also organises the clubs tournaments. The club are starting a beginner course to cater for the enthusiasm shown by parents of junior players at the club.
Jenny Box, LTA's Volunteer Engagement Manager, said: "The focus of Pangbourne is to have a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere at the club that promotes tennis being a game for life. This is reinforced by the dedication and hard work of volunteers like Claire to encourage new players and promote the club as the heart of the village community".
