tennace at Gerrards Cross LTC, Bull Lane ran a series of excellent tennis tournaments for various age groups.
Alex Hattam (GXLTC) won two events in the two day tennace tournament. He defeated number 2 seed Chilli Poulter in the semi finals 2-4 4-1 10-2 whilst Nouman Aslam was defeating Dan Buckeldee the top seed 4-0 4-2. In a very close final Nouman was dominating with his big topspin forehand and swept into a one set lead 4-2. alex atarted to get better depth in the second set and after a very long third game he won the set 4-1. The deciding match tie-break saw many exiting rallies before Alex won 10-6. he teamed up with dan to beat Chilli poulter and Nouman in the doubles final 4-2 5-3.
The orange tournament for players aged 9 and under was terrific: number 2 seed Sonny Poulter first beat Charlie Goutkin-Smith 7-6 5-7 7-6 unleashing a huge forehand on sudden death match point which hit the line. Sonny then played Rahul Renganath and again won the sudden death match point - 6-7 7-3 7-6. In the final he faced William Evans who had beaten the top seed Saberish Ganesh 7-2 4-7 7-4. William played a great match using his big first serve and accuracy of groundstroke to beat an exhausted Sonny 7-2 7-5.
Josh Greenway from chalfont st peter who plays at Great Missenden Club convincingly won two events the Green 10 and under and the under 12 singles.
